Cyberzone

Thankfully i was able to get the last flight out of Orlando to attend Cyberzone. Right after my last exam was over i hoped in the car and drove to the airport to catch my plane. I took the trip using Air Trans, surprisingly enough the flight was very enjoyable. Apparently they are the first airline to provide XM radio. Unfortunantly when i landed in Atlanta our plane was having problems so my flight to PHIL was delayed 1 hour. That left amped trying to convince me to take a taxi from the airport to Bensalem. After a 4 hour flight he was debating whether or not he would pick me up. In the end i arrived at 1:30 am, he was able to pick me up. Right as we arrived at the hotel we went straight to sleep.

Something was vibrating, apparently my phone is trying to tell me its game time. I didnt want to commit the same mistake we did at CPL so we woke up about 30 minutes prior to what our wake-up call was set to. We then headed to Cyberzone and picked up some breakfast in the Dunkin Donuts at the mall. I ordered some coffee, ended up being the biggest mistake of my life. After pouring about 30 packages of sugar i was getting no where. I ended up throwing my coffee in the trash. First and last time i drink Coffee. Guess i need to order some flavored Coffee next time.

It was finally time to play, on the way there we found out we would be playing Paradox first round on carentan. A map we had played them on just a few days before. I heard they bootcamped the night before and they knew our strats for carentan. They came out with a very strong allies push and we found ourselves down 4 rounds on german. With some reajustments we were able to bring back the half to a score of 5-5. We were able to grab an additional 5 rounds on allies and then we easily wrapped it up in overtime thanks to Amped and his trusty B.A.R. It was then time to play ege on matmata. We were able to come out with the win 11-6. The matches following went really well, we seem to have problems picking up the first few rounds. We were behind on most maps and then ended up coming back to win it or taking it to overtime (Rsports, Paradox). Our overtime record is flawless with a record of about 5/5. After securing the upper bracket we ended up waiting 4 hours for the lower brackets to finish. Insomnia took a big win over Rsports on carentan. The finals went well, we were all playing well and were able to take down insomnia on 2 maps without a problem.

I think we all had a great time at the lan. Carter handed out steelpad products. Everyone was really nice, especially the french guys. Hats off to Prank, Cody, and Holt. Those guys did very well on lan.
There is a Poker game that's suppose to start around 11 pm tonight. Of course im not playing, poker is a terrible game.

Minutemen.cod2 to CAL Finals!

Wow. What a match it was on TVsN. Railyard against e2 was the communities favorite match to watch all season long as it went into triple overtime with a score of 20-17 in favor of minutemen. Skinz pulling though with a 34 bomb in regulation with many amazing sniper shots and overall amazing clutch rounds overcame e2 on their map of choice. After railyard was a quick easy win for minutemen on dawnville. All season long dawnville has been one of mins stronger maps and one of end effects worst. SeaL had a lot of great rounds and tons of great shots to put that map in favor of minutemen 11-6.

While all this was going on, zEx defeated paradox in an upset of sorts. So the finals should be a great match, zEx vs. Minutemen. Each know each other as arch rivals. Another news post will be up soon announcing the time, date, and TVsN link again for the CAL finals.

Minutemen to GGL finals and 2 CAL playoff wins.

With 2 good wins over a tough End Effect team Minutemen now moves into the ggl finals. The next match will be against the winner of BTH and N2P. With 2000 dollars on the line you can bet the next few matches will be very good.

Also, we have advanced to the 3rd round of CAL playoffs, beating Nothing 2 Prove 11-7 in the 1st round and beating The Final Stand 11-4 in the 2nd round. The next match is against sinister on mp_matmata, which we played a few weeks back on the same map for GGL.

Stay tuned for updates!

Minutemen.cod2 GGL Americup Playoffs Round 1 Summary and Other Team Updates.

I havent seen many news posts lately about anything related to Call of Duty 2 so SeaL asked me to write this up.

GGL Americup 2 playoffs have finally started after a long wait for GGL to get things together. Minutemen was matched up against sinister on mp_matmata, mp_carentan, and mp_railyard if the match went on into overtime for the first round of the playoffs.

Matmata is a map where the team with better nades wins. Our German side had some strong pushes put against us at A but that was nothing SeaL and flak couldnt stop. Sk1nz put out some amazing shot as did zondo. Televus got some important nade kills that helped the scoreboard keep in favor to Minutemen for all of the match. 11-3 was the final score on matmata, next map was carentan.

Carentan is a map that everybody knows. Nades are a huge factor on the American side. If you have set nades that go to top middle or any spot where the Germans usually sit in, you will win rounds and that is exactly what sinister did. Minutemen started off on American, barely stratted with only pick strats and unorganized fast pushes, Min pulled off a 6-4 side, in favor of sinister, but if you have 4-5 rounds on allies you get great momentum coming onto the German side. Sinister started off with a south push that Min couldnt take it down, after that they kept going B side with tons of great nades and heavily stratted pushes that was demolishing any kind of defense we had set up to watch B. The score at one point was 9-5 in favor of sinister. Many great picks by all of the Min team members helped to win rounds and help eventually win the map 11-9 in favor of Minutemen in a nailbiter. Good games to sinister, it was fun.

Minutemen.cod is currently 6-1 in CAL and playing insomnia on sunday, 5-0 in CEVO and playing cynic friday or saturday, and in the next round of GGL playoffs Minutemen plays GameWyze, which should be a close match.
